Dragon Boating

About Dragon Boating

Looking for a fun and low-impact sport to try? Dragon boating is a fast-growing water sport; we are proud to be the first to introduce it to Vancouver. It is simple to learn and difficult to master. No experience is required. After a quick land lesson, participants will don life jackets, grab their paddles and climb aboard.

If you are ready to give it a try we invite you to attend one of our weekly team practices. We provide everything you need; please come dressed to be on the water and bring a water bottle.

We have a friendly group of paddlers who all started out just like you-they just showed up! Contact Jeff Campbell (ph 971-222-3679 or email) of Double Fifth Dragon Boating for more information, practice times, or group activities.

The Dragon Boaters also use to connect with their members and share the latest information.

The Vancouver Lake Disabled Water Sports Program is hosted by Vancouver Lake Crew and is supported entirely through donations. The FREE program helps any disabled veteran gain access to water sports such as rowing, kayaking, dragon boating, and SUP. We understand that not all disabilities are physical and we welcome veterans with PTSD, TBI or any other disability. Purple Heart veterans are also welcome. The program has a small, but growing adaptive element to help physically disabled veterans experience the freedom of being on the water. If you are part of a veterans' group, give us a call and we can set up a time for your entire organization to come out and try any of our programs. For more information and videos visit

Awaken the Dragon Team Building

March thru October

This program requires a minimum of 10 participants who are ready for a fun challenge and are able to perform moderate physical activity. Bring your group to Vancouver Lake and let the fun begin. Groups paddle to the beat of the drummer while experiencing what it takes to move the boat across the water as a team. During the session, participants learn the importance of working together toward a common goal. A discussion follows the event highlighting the relevance of their dragon boat performance and team building challenges.
