Great job to everyone at L.O.O.P.! Everyone raced well! The Varsity Men's Eight also posted the overall fasted course time in 22:27. Great Job to everyone. Check out the regatta photos, with more on the way soon.

Reminders:

  • Head of the Lake is Sunday November 12. Drive up on Saturday, and race Sunday morning.
  • No Practice Monday
  • But show up and work hard the rest of the week to prepare for Head of the Lake
  • Finally anyone who has race pictures for the website please email them to a webmaster. Thanks!

Fall rowing is just around the corner! Returning summer rowers (and experienced rowers of course) are encouraged to row this fall. Bring a friend to crew– the first month is free. View the info flier's here– Highschool Rowing Middle School Rowing. Right-click and "save target as..." to download the fliers.

Also we are trying to put together a varsity mens heavyweight eight for both fall and spring. So, if you are an experienced guy (or anyone on VLC for that matter) get to practice– every day- or as close to that as possible. If everyone misses one day a week we may not have a complete lineup at any point during the whole week.

Fall Info

  • Fall Practice begins Monday, September 11 and ends at Thanksgiving Break.
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 3-5:30pm. Saturday 9:30-Noon.
  • Wednesday and Sunday off.
  • VLC Address is 2010 NW 69th St, Vancouver, WA, 98665
  • September 16– Budd Inlet, Olympia.
  • October 1– Head of the Dog, Portland.
  • November 4– L.O.O.P., Porland.
  • November 12– Head of the Lake, Seattle.
  • The Middle School team will practice Tuesday and Thursday each week from 4-5:30pm and Saturdays from 9:30-Noon. Contact Coach Will if you are interested.

Summer rowing has been great!
  • We have many new rowers attending and improving.
  • Vashon Island was a succes. The guys 8+ came in 1st overall and 3rd for the overall course record.
  • Everyone had fun hiking Silver Star Mountain.
  • The Blind Camp was a success. 11 blind students were on the water.
  • Those who can go to the scrimmage with ORU make sure and sign up in the erg house!
  • Vashon pics are up! Check 'em out. Hopefully the hiking pics and more will be up soon.
  • Enjoy the week off and stay active!

Important– after June, 6 there is no practice until Monday, June, 19.

VLC kicked butt @ Regionals! Races were May 19-21 @ the 2k course by Vancouver Lake Park. VLC won 7 trophies and many many more medals. Great job everybody! Check out the Results section for the official racing results packet. Also congratulations to David Pervere and Russel Higgins who will be competing at Nations in the Mens 2x!
